Tour to Kiev: Podol and Andreevskiy Spusk

Podol was formed after fire of 1811, when all the wooden constructions burnt down. There you may see Andreevsky spusk, St. Anrew’s church, Bulgakov house museum, St. Michael’s cathedral, Ilinskaya church, St. Frol monastery (Church of Virgin Pirogoshcha), cog railway.Andreevsky spusk, that is also known as Andriyivskyy Uzviz is Montmartre of Kiev and a slope that leads to Podol. The center of Podol is Kontraktovaya Square. At all times – from the ancient period till nowadays – Podol always keeps its own spirit. There are a lot of historic attractions, among them - Mikhail Bulgakov's house-museum. This museum was opened in order to mark the 100th birthday of Bulgakov.
After the walk through Andreevskiy spusk with our guide, you will go down to Podil, there you will continue your trip, will see: Frolivskyi, Pokrovskyi Monasteries, National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy (such historical persons as Lomonosov, Skovoroda and many other studied in this academy), House of Ivan Mazepa, House of Peter the Great and Fountain of Samson etc.
