The Runway ¹ 1 of the airport "Borispol" is 10 years old.
In 2001 in "Borispol" the new runway was opened with the length of 4000 m and width of 60 m. In spite of the fact that 10 years has passed, technical possibilities of the runway of Borispol airdrome remains unique not only in Ukraine, but also for all Eastern Europe.
For all time of Runway’s ¹ 1 operation has not given any failure, that has been informed in the Ministry of Ukraine’s infrastructure.
The flight zone ¹ 1 of the airport "Borispol" corresponds to requirements of the international organisation of civil aircraft ICAO and allows to accept aircrafts of all types round-the-clock, in particular, in the conditions of the limited visibility.
Its possibilities allow to come in the land to aircrafts with height of decision-making less than 30 m (or without restriction on decision-making height) and at visibility range on the runway not less than 200 m. Such possibilities have appeared thanks to introduction of innovative light-signal system.
On the Runway ¹ 1 the system of remote control and control over an equipment condition on each object operate. The system of early detection of ice is applied.
Therefore for today, after 10 years of operation, the flight zone ¹ 1 does not demand any repair connected with destruction of coverings.
